Gingerbread Pigeons

Haha how cute are gingerbread pigeons!

During Christmas I had bought some gingerbread dough from Miller and Baker and had a great idea to cut out some bird shapes instead of human shapes for fun. I didn’t quite have a plan, I just knew that I would probably freehand the cutouts and put some sort of icing to decorate.

I spent a while at the shops trying to figure out if I wanted plain white squeezy icing, make my own icing, coloured icing, how many colours of icing, but finally (and sensibly) settled for just white squeezy icing!

I tried out a few different patterns after getting used to how not-squeezy the squeezy icing was, and made a mottled pattern just for Harri!

Unfortunately the real pigeons weren’t impressed!

Decided to brew up some Bitterleaf black tea to go with the cookies!
