  • La Bayadere

I guess I’m a ballet enthusiast now? I really enjoyed watching Swan Lake and Echoes of Van Gogh last year and was looking into this year’s lineup.

La Bayadere, it turns out, has a very high degree of technicality and it was super impressive! WA Ballet’s interpretation is different from the original, and I enjoyed the plotline. I think I was holding my breath for most of it, especially during Act II, The Kingdom of the Shades, the arabesque train down a slope!!! Omg! All the ballerinas were trembling, it must have been so intense! I have so much respect for the strength of ballet dancers!

This time I also paid some attention to the orchestra too, I feel like part of the magic of ballet is also that the conductor is watching the ballet in order to make sure the orchestra is in sync. So cool!

There’s nothing quite like the intensity of watching live performances!

  • Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint

I hate it when I hear about something that I find interesting, because if I then involve myself in the interesting thing, I get thrown in the deep end, and that’s what happened after hearing about Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint. 15 days after starting it, I managed to finish up to the current point of the web comic, and also the entire web novel. My eyes!

  • Officially a Twosetter

I’ve only been a fan for like 3 months? And I managed to splurge on a presale ticket for almost front row seats! What was I even thinking, first a violin, and now an actual concert!

Having watched a fair few of their videos now, I had a vague idea of how their live performances would be – super relaxed, possibly some audience interaction, and basically a mix of comedy and classical performance. They really are pretty good at live performances and interacted well with the audience! The icebreaker was their violin charades at the beginning, and then of course came long the Ling Ling exam.

The most mind blowing thing? I had no idea how good they were at hula hooping! I mean it’s obvious once I saw it that they practiced a lot and probably did it in each performance, but the fact that it was live and that there are moments where it looked like they’d lose their hooping momentum – just like my recent interest in watching ballet, these live performances are so riveting! Not only that, but all of the audience felt the same way, we audibly gasped and cheered throughout the whole concert!

There were viola jokes aplenty, a jab at Brett’s lack of perfect pitch, some sacrilegious speed, and overall a very entertaining night!

Now the question is, should I go see an actual classic concert one day? Or should I go practice 40 hours a day? Why not both!

  • Hades 32 Heat featuring EM4!

Hello 2024! Starting the year with a great gaming session. I resumed Hades to see if I could get more heat, but it turns out bounties stop at 20, so I thought, why not, let’s just go straight to 32 heat!

And to prove it wasn’t a fluke, I did it on two weapons, but I chose completely different options in the Pact of Punishment, since they play quite differently.

Now if only I could get the crystal ship in FTL: Faster Than Light!!

  • I splurged on a violin

I dropped almost $2000 just so I could take a photo like this!

  • Some Hades fun

    Finally!!!

I stopped playing Hades when I couldn’t beat Extreme Measures 4 on 10 heat, and found Dead Cells instead. But having learned that recently someone beat the hardest difficulty, I thought, why not, let’s go back and actually push heat instead of trying to do only EM4. I even got an EM4 victory too! So now I can play a song banned for having too many notes 😀

  • The rest of the Ethereal series

Yes this is a very shoddy edit of the panels, I didn’t try too hard and was just checking to see if the format worked. The end goal is to colour this! But we’ll see if I ever get that done since it feels like it’s a big project and I still don’t have enough skill and patience.
