  • Hanging by a Thread

Ok this is my best work yet even though it’s so far from accurate that I actually still hate it. I feel like I’ve spammed a lot of pictures but haven’t rambled much!

  • Stede in contemplation

Why is digital so hard, why do I like pencil better. But digital is the only way I can practice colour so it’s such a painstaking process. Drawing hair is too much fun though. Painful fun.

And yeah, I totally fudged the shirt cause who cares about shirts! Flowery pink robe is where it’s at, if only I could draw it XD

  • Scribbling Blackbeard

Memory, no reference. Not bad but lol I fail at hairlines. It’s so-so but considering I’ve almost never deviated from copying, I’m happy with it!

  • Passive Aggression

Stede’s face haha. I hate drawing his face; in the WIP below he looks like a demonic clown of nightmares, but my phone still picks up all three faces, which is pretty cool!

I think it’s also the first time I’ve drawn three people in a single copy (I’ve done my own scribbles with more characters); it’s funny seeing this redrawn by others as just Stede and Ed but I think Abshir also deserves to be in the shot.

Also, did I mention just how much clothing aristocrats wear? Stede’s costume here was insane in an amazing way, which I never noticed till I had to draw it.

  • At some point in a man’s life he has to face the music

Stede is hard to draw! I tried my best and went too heavy on the shadows relative to the rest of him. I’m loving all this practice!

  • You make Stede happy

I’m not as happy with this one as the Ed side, capturing Rhys’ likeness is much more difficult for me, but I did really want to draw both sides. I kind of rushed Ed’s hair too! There is such thing as hair fatigue XD

  • You think you’re cute

Actually, I think I’m just so-so. But I’ve decided to carry myself like I’m cute.

    Lucius is amazing!

  • No more yummy lavender soap

I am so bad at the digital stuff still. I mean my pencil work is still not where I want it to be, but the digital drawing from scratch is insane. It just doesn’t feel as tactile still. Also, the digital versions suffer the same issue with faces not being right as I do with pencil drawings. Sigh.

But I will continue to practice aaaah.

Did I mention how hard it is to draw frizzy wavy hair? I feel like i have to shake my hand all funny to achieve it XD
