So because I’ve been doing so much running, I decided to enter the City to Surf for real. I did one back in Sydney ages back but as a walker; the Perth one is shorter (12km compared to 14km and no giant hill) and I’ve run that distance before so I felt it was manageable!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was actually pretty fun with lots of spectactors cheering us on throughout the course, including a taiko drum performance near the end!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I was feeling pretty good and managing to nose breathe during flats but I think next time (if I decide to do another one!) I need to try to get into the faster wave because crowd weaving is hard work! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Google Maps and Google Health both had different distances and times recorded but that heart rate lol! I guess the adrenaline and fun of it all masked some of that insane heart rate! I did run all of the inclines, the elevation map did show some hills but in the excitement I managed to power through them!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Very happy with my time, thanks to a very good brekky! Also timed my water intake well so the water stations didn’t slow me down too much!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
