I Want to See the Splendour of People’s Souls

I finally drew my favourite villain!!! Makishima Shogo is the best! And this is my favourite scene too!

Too bad I have no concept of depth so all the blood is blurred in different ways that don’t make sense lol

Digital studies

Fruit plate – speed sketch with a one hour limit. Not bad, though I spent far too long on the plate (which is skewed too); I went over it 3 times which wasted a lot of time, leaving me less time to go into more fruit detail.

Yay it’s finally done!

I thought my hand was totally going to die since I don’t use a tablet enough to use it well; I keep death gripping the stylus and my hand was twitching uncontrollably.

I can’t wait to go back to some pencil drawings and destroy my back instead!

The Ethereal set – Ristrel, Syndrafiel, Yverrine, Fool. I wasn’t sure if I wanted a four character panel or more/less; when I was looking through my records, I had the option of adding Entropy (who I’ve never drawn, even in concept) and the Ethereal Angel (I forgot her name, it’s too long and I never mention it), but I also didn’t have design for her. So just the four main ones it was!

I drew each one separately so their heights and sizes aren’t quite right, but the whole goal of this was to get a standalone yet flowing background for each of them, that was definitely fun to do!

Mackerel study

I’m still calling this the Photshop Takes Zero Skill series even though I’m using Clip Studio Paint now lol.

I’ve never done a colour still life study before, and wow, I really didn’t know where to start to be honest. I laid down GREEN as my first colour! Am I insane? No, I just don’t know colour theory.

Grandson portrait

This one was interesting to draw! As always, displaying my Photoshop Takes Zero Skill heavily filtered pic, but I do want to post some WIPs too!

I wanted to try something different for this – I really like the angle and lighting of this shot, but it was too daunting to approach with pencil because it was extremely black heavy, and I don’t like having to spend so much pencil lead on paper because it’s so tedious, not to mention the graphite goes everywhere and is prone to smudging! So I decided to start my digital canvas black, and worked my way towards white. It kind of worked???
